Overview
The inaugural Rotto Tech Fest was held on Tuesday, 4 December 2018 on Rottnest Island (Wadjemup), featuring ocean-technology discussions, a beachside lunch and an afterparty. 32 Degrees South served as Creative Director of the inaugural festival and continued to deliver the event through to 2021. The event continues today as West Tech Fest Wadjemup.
Our Role
Set against the natural beauty of Wadjemup (Rottnest Island), the festival brings together purpose-driven entrepreneurs, investors and changemakers advancing sustainability, green, clean and ocean tech. Now known as West Tech Fest Wadjemup and held at Pinky's Beach Club, the forum explores how to measure impact beyond commercial outcomes — environmental stewardship, climate solutions and circular economy principles, and how business can be a force for positive change. 32 Degrees South shaped the festival's concept, programming, partnerships and production as Creative Director of the inaugural event, delivering the festival through to 2021 and building the intimate, high-impact island setting that remains its signature.
