West Tech Fest and OzApps 2015

The 2015 West Tech Fest and OzAPP Awards took place in December 2015 in Perth.
  • 350 attendees including 90 high school students and 50 young entrepreneurs
  • Stellar panel of speakers from the US, Sydney and Melbourne
  • 200+ hopefuls entered the OzApps competition from five different countries
  • Winner of the Q Prize awarded by Qualcomm was Swift


Business News Western Australia covered the five finalists when they were revealed.

Swift’s win was covered in Business News, West Australian and RAC SeedSpark.

The educational side of the West Tech Fest was covered in Start Up News, and our youngest participant eleven year old Hamish Finlayson was also covered.

The West Australian noted the increasing importance of events like WTF and OzApps after Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s determined focus on innovation. The West Tech Assemblage, covered by Startup News was an event at the festival which created a platform for the tech industry and politicians to meet  And Nick Sass of the West Australian was quick to draw this comparison at the event in his piece below.
